The Pinson Public Library is a member of the Jefferson County Library Cooperative (JCLC), which links public libraries to provide countywide services to the residents in Jefferson County. The Alabama Public Library Service (APLS) is the state agency responsible for coordinating Alabama public library services.
Pinson Public Library opened for business on October 1st, 2011. The first location of the library was in a shared building with Pinson City Hall located at 4410 Main Street. The library was the first city department and the Library Director, April Wallace, was the first full time city employee. Pinson Public Library quickly grew to one of the top ten highest circulating libraries in Jefferson County and outgrew the space available in the shared building with City Hall. On January 13th, 2019, Pinson Public Library relocated into the renovated Rock School, located at 4509 Pinson Boulevard.
