Getting a Library Card: To get a library card all you need to do is bring your drivers license or state-issued ID that shows your current address. If your ID does not show your current address you must bring a utility bill or piece of mail that shows your address. There is no fee to join the library if you are a resident of Jefferson County and have never had a library card. We are funded by the city of Pinson, so if you live outside of Jefferson County there is a $50 annual fee.
Late Charges/Other Charges: Pinson Public Library is proud to be fine free. Most items that belong to our location will accrue fines, but we are able to waive those fines when you visit the library. We just ask that you return our items in good condition. Please contact us if you have any questions. There is a $5.00 fee for damaged DVD cases. Any lost materials will be charged a replacement fee.
Expired Cards: Library cards expire two years from when issued or renewed. To renew your library card you may go to any public library in Jefferson County. Bring your library card and drivers license or ID that shows your current address. Lost cards can be replaced at no cost.
Renewing Items: Call us (680-9298) to request an item renewal or renew items online. Items that have holds cannot be renewed. Items automatically renew up to two times after checkout. Please note that items that have additional patrons waiting for them will not renew automatically.
Online Payments: Do you owe a fine? You can pay online with a MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover card.
Check-out History: For privacy reasons, the library does not keep a history of what people have checked out in the past. It only keeps a record of what is currently checked out and items with problems, such as fines. However, you can turn your reading history by logging into your account.
