What does TAB do?
How do teens apply to become members?
Teen member application can be picked up at the front desk or completed online. Once application is completed, it can be returned to the front desk or it will be received online. Teen will be contacted by a staff leader with more information about meetings.
Parental Permission Form must be completed by the teen’s parent or legal guardian. This form can also be picked up and returned to the front desk. Parental Permission form must be signed before teen will be allowed to participate in any TAB activities. A parent may complete the permission form via email.

As a member of TAB, you will be considered a teen representative of the Pinson Public Library. Please remember that you represent the library at all teen events and especially when you are volunteering at the library. You should be kind and courteous to everyone (patrons, other teens, & staff) while at the library.
Excessive phone/digital device usage during volunteer hours is unacceptable. Please be mindful of your language and tone of voice as well as the volume of your voice at the library. We are all individuals who are bound to have differences of opinion as everyone participates in discussions. Please remember to be kind to your fellow TAB members & respect his or her opinions. Excessive arguing and/or insults toward other members will not be tolerated.
- The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is your opportunity to give the library feedback on what you like about the library, what you want more of at the library, and what you like to do at the library.
- TAB is a group of teens who want to help us make decisions about programming and materials for other teens.
- TAB will also help out at library programs and events, including those for teens, kids, and adults.
- TAB Members also promote their library in their own schools & within their own social circles so more teens visit the library.
Who can be a member?
- Any teen in 6th-12th grade can be a member of TAB
- Teen should be a regular library user who checks out materials from the library.
- Teen should frequently attend programs & events at the library.
- *een must have parental permission to participate in TAB
What is required to maintain membership?
- Must be in 6th-12th grade
- Must attend at least 2 TAB meetings per year.
- Must volunteer for at least 5 hours at the library each year.

- Plan teen programs
- Give feedback on the collection of materials for teens.
- Volunteer to help with library programs.
- Assist with various art projects at the library.
- Help design a teen space.
- Make bookmarks or book lists for suggested reading for other teens.

Meetings – When, Where, & What?
- Meetings to be held the second Tuesday of each month at 6 PM
- Please be on time.
- Please refrain from phone usage during meetings.
- Each meeting will have an agenda provided by staff leader.
- Please contact the staff leader if you want something added to the agenda.
- Food and drinks will be provided by the library at each meeting.
- Please tidy up after yourselves.
- Meetings should only last about an hour to an hour and a half.
- Stay on task during meetings.
